Basic Functions:
Thorough understanding of network configuration, installation and documentation of LAN/WAN networking, Internet security, routing, switching and data center cabling design is required. Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively with users by understanding and interpreting verbal and written requests. Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP services, IP network design and IP sub-netting is essential. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must work in an accurate, proactive, independent manner. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 80 pounds. Aptitude for electrical and electromechanical devices such as stereos, VCRs, cameras, slide projectors, overhead projectors, telephones, printers and computers is required. Three or more years hands-on experience with personal computers and network servers. Substantial experience helping other computer users with their hardware and software needs is required. Excellent, demonstrated working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, communications software and databases within Microsoft Windows operating environment. Two years college (A.A.) or equivalent preferred. MCSE certification strongly preferred.

Key Job Responsibilities:

	Administer and monitor the ProfitLine San Diego network, understand network monitoring equipment, network security, firewalls and the Windows NT/2000 operating systems.
	Provide installation, system management, problem diagnosis and support for Windows 2000 and NT servers, workstations, and peripherals.
	Monitor and maintain local area network and Internet connectivity, security and operations including installation, documentation, administration, technical services and enhancement recommendations.
	Manage backup of data files, MS Exchange, MS SQL Server and other data. Design, implement and document ProfitLine’s LAN/WAN backup and restore infrastructure. Configure, maintain and upgrade all network servers, routers, switches, hubs, etc. as needed.
	Other responsibilities as directed.
